What is one disadvantage of cloning an animal?
The disadvantage of cloning animals is that prolonged use of this technology would create a genetic bottleneck. With all animals have nearly the same, if not identical, genetic makeup, the species would be at an increased risk of extinction because of the risks of inbreeding.
What are the main issues with cloning?
Ethical issues specific to human cloning include: the safety and efficacy of the procedure, cloning for destructive embryonic stem cell research, the effects of reproductive cloning on the child/parent relationship, and the commodification of human life as a research product.

Why We Still Haven't Cloned Humans — It's Not Just Ethics
What is ethically wrong with cloning?
Because the risks associated with reproductive cloning in humans introduce a very high likelihood of loss of life, the process is considered unethical. There are other philosophical issues that also have been raised concerning the nature of reproduction and human identity that reproductive cloning might violate.

Why is cloning inefficient?
Due to number of factors, many scientist and common people are against cloning. Up to now it's consider as inefficient technique due to high failure of cloned animal growth from gestation to adulthood. Mostly losses in cloned animals are due to placental abnormalities, cardiovascular and respiratory problems.
Why pets should not be cloned?
Cloning requires cells that contain enough intact DNA. But animal tissue begins to degrade soon after death as bacteria start to gnaw away at newly defenseless cells. Ko knew that they had to act quickly if they were going to have a chance to preserve the animal's genetic material.
Is cloning an advantage or disadvantage?
Advantages of Cloning:
1. Cloning of stem cells will provide treatment for variety of diseases. 2. It gives an opportunity to the parents to choose the characters and traits they want in their children and also eliminate the unwanted ones.
How does cloning violate human rights?
A prohibition on cloning interferes with the right to reproductive privacy and autonomy. The Universal Declaration on Human Rights (UDHR) guarantees the right to found a family and protects the family as a sphere of privacy.

When a cell dies, its DNA quickly breaks into pieces. That's why DNA from hair may be in good enough shape to identify a person (for example at a crime scene), but you can't clone somebody with it.
Why are clones inhumane?
Cloned embryos tend to be large and can result in painful births that are often carried out by Caesarean section. Many clones die during pregnancy or birth. Of those that survive, a significant proportion die in the early days and weeks of life from problems such as heart, liver and kidney failure.
Does cloning cause animal suffering?
