Do I need a 3 or 4 hybrid club?

Amateur golfers should carry 2 to 3 hybrid irons in their golf bag to replace clubs like the 5-wood and 3 and 4-irons. The total number of hybrids any golfer needs is best determined through measurement of club head speed, distance gaps between clubs, personal preference, playing goals and budget.

What is the difference between a 3 and 4 hybrid?

Naturally, the 3 hybrid will create a lower-arcing shot but will generally produce more distance than a 4 hybrid. In fact, you can expect an average of about 190 yards out of a 3 hybrid. However, compare that to an average of 180 yards from a 4 hybrid and the differences seems almost negligible.
