Can I use compressed air in my paintball gun?

In most cases, paintball guns use compressed air tanks with high pressure ratings, generally ranging from 3000 psi up to 5000 psi. The paintball guns balance the pressure using a regulator connected to the piping to achieve the ideal output.

Can you use a paintball gun without CO2?

Can you use compressed air instead of CO2?

Compressed air's main advantage is consistency. The more consistent pressure results in much more consistent performance. Compressed air is marginally affected by temperature, unlike CO2, making it great for cold weather and electronic guns. Most paintball fields charge for all-day compressed air fills.

Can you put compressed air in a CO2 tank for paintball?

Most tanks used for CO2 usage in paintball are rated to only 1800psi, so you can theoretically (and legally) put an HPA regulator on them and fill them with compressed air, but the shots-per-tank will be very poor compared to even a 3000psi tank, and because the output of any fill station you find will easily exceed ...

CO2 (carbon dioxide, CAS #124-38-9) – With carbon dioxide, we are approaching something that could be honestly called “canned air”, although you still can't breathe it. CO2 is very high pressure, so generally comes in small metal cartridges like those used in air guns.
